“Over the past decade Moskus has been, and still are, one of the most exciting piano trios coming out of Norway. They change and expand the format, and with that also the level of quality on norwegian music. The development the three of them have had since their debut album Salmesykkel in 2012 is spectacular, and the youthful playfulness and openness in their way of embracing the music and the possibilities of collectiveness is no less than moving.”
– Audun Vinger
This Limited Edition Double LP comes with Liner Notes by Audun Vinger, in both Norwegian and English. Gatefold designed by Rune Mortensen.
Moskus have released four critically acclaimed albums on Hubro, after winning Grappa’s Debutant Award in 2011. The trio have been nominated for the norwegian Grammy, Spellemannsprisen, four times, and consist of Anja Lauvdal (piano, synth), Hans Hulbækmo (drums, percussion) and Fredrik Luhr Dietrichson (double bass, cello).
The band says this about the music:
«Since we are (soon) celebrating our ten year anniversary as a band, we wanted to release something that was a bit different than a studio record. We listened through a jungle of recordings we’ve made, from rehearsals and gigs the past ten years, and landed on the show from Victoria. We’ve played as a free improvising band basically from when we started out, while on our records we’ve also been composing and making tunes based on improvisations. After the release of our latest album, Mirakler, we played several all-improvised gigs, where we built on the music from Mirakler, the soundscape and the way of playing together. The live show which is now released was our release concert from Victoria Nasjonal Jazzscene – more on that in the liner notes by Audun Vinger, who was present at the show. We’re looking forward to sharing it with you!»
