Eden
Single release September 28 2018
The first meeting with Delish is an intense and pulsating yet dreamy pop song. Layers of synthesizers, underlined by a heart-pounding groove and waif-like, spare vocals emit a nerve-sparkling inner glow, a private form of dance music. The duo’s electronic sound is organic – Garner’s vocal and text balances between personal and universal, and the recognizable strains of Lindvalls synthesizers succeeds in being both minimalist and effortlessly magnificent. Like an aural road-movie, Eden projects directly onto the listener’s own inner screen.
Natali Abrahamsen Garner and Johan Lindvall are well known names on the flourishing Norwegian music scene. The duo have worked closely together for the past years as creative minds of the alternative-pop band Antler, whose record ‘Bonbons’ was released in 2016 followed by performances on the top-of-the-line Norwegian festivals Øya og Pstereo. Appart they are also associated with other acclaimed projects. Lindvall already made a mark as bandleader earlier this year with the release of Torg’s Palms, Beaches, Dreams, claimed by Norwegian media to be «gathering a bunch of the country’s most interesting musicians» (Dagens Næringsliv, by Audun Vinger), as well as being the pianist of ECM artist Mette Henriette. Garner is known for her voicework in the vocal duo Propan, who upon the release of their debut album BABY in 2017, were proclaimed two of the most interesting vocalists in the Norwegian music scene. Garner is also part of Susanna Wallumrøds Brotherhood of our lady and the groundbreaking ensemble Trondheim Voices.
